The Financial Times Annual Reports Club was voted the best product or service of 1998 for the private investor at the ProShare annual awards ceremony held at The Dorchester Hotel, London on 2^nd December 1998. The award, which was presented by The Rt Hon. Francis Maude, Shadow Chancellor, was based on votes cast by members of ProShare Investment Clubs and readers of "The Investor" magazine. Praise for the FT Annual Reports Club included: "highly efficient" and "you can use this service even if you can’t find the company’s contact details - which is sometimes easier said than done."

The FT Annual Reports Club is a free reader service which provides investors with one central source of company annual reports when they are researching companies prior to making an investment decision. Over 1,600 reports are available and the participating companies are shown by a club symbol next to their share price in the FT every day. The Club has grown enormously in popularity with both companies and FT readers since it’s launch in September 1992, with nearly 60% of all listed companies participating and more than 1.5 million reports being requested in 1998.
